Louisa is a Research Manager in the MIT Scheller Teacher Education Program. She manages the design, content, and development of educational games and simulations to be used with middle and high school students. She also oversees the research done on these projects exploring how games can be used most effectively in both formal and informal educational settings. Most recently Louisa has held the role of lead designer on The Radix Endeavor, a multiplayer online game focused on high school math and biology. Past projects include location-based augmented reality games and mobile games for biology. Prior to becoming a researcher at MIT, Louisa worked in public media and Web site production, and also taught ESL to children and adults of all ages. She holds a B.A. in Computer Science from Brown University and an Ed.M. in Technology, Innovation, and Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
